Save the Date!

You probably remember my post of Katy and Cristian's engagement session from earlier in the year. I was so excited to open my mail box today and see their Save the Date! Katy chose teal for her main wedding color and wanted a peacock theme. I think their Save the Date sets the tone for their wedding perfectly! I worked with them to pick a design they would love, and in the end, we decided to go with a 5 x 5 magnet. It's such a cute reminder to have on my fridge! I love seeing their happy faces. Less than 4 months to go!

Welcome Baby Leighton! - Plano Newborn Session

Beware y'all, the pictures in this post will make your heart melt.

I had the pleasure of meeting Little Miss Leighton for the first time a few weekends ago when I traveled to Plano, TX for her newborn session. At 10 days old and weighing a little more than 6 lbs, baby Leighton stole my heart. Her mom, Angie, and I planned for several months before her birth, discussing due date possibilities, ideal weekends for travel and pictures, photo ideas and more. Everything went according to plan, and Leighton's newborn session couldn't have been more perfect. We kept her warm, full, and happy; in return, she rewarded us with cute snugly poses.

Her nursery had great lighting, so most of the session took place there. I almost teared up when I walked into her room for the first time, Angie and David created a beautiful, classic nursery, fit for a princess. Angie pointed out some of her favorite details to me, explaining how several pieces in the room were gifts from family and friends. -- The pennant name banner above the crib was crafted at a scrap-booking weekend by close friends and the delicate chevron curtains were sewn with love by family. Leighton's Dad, David and I talked about the hours he spent painting her room, and making sure all the details were just right. It was very clear that this lucky baby girl was loved by many!

During the family portion of our session, I got to witness some special moments between Leighton and her older brother Bryant. Coming from a family with 3 older brothers, I understand the special bond these two will have in years to come. It was sweet to see this cool teenager be so smitten with this little girl.

This is such a special family to me, and I am so thrilled to have shared a little portion of this new chapter with them!

Ranft Family -- Gruene Family Portrait Session

Last weekend I had the pleasure of meeting up with the Ranft family in Gruene, TX.  Rachael and Dale have two of the sweetest boys, Gray and Jasper. Their darling cowboy hats and boots turned heads all throughout town. At one point, we actually heard someone exclaim "Look, real cowboys!" which gave Rachael and I quite the laugh. We started our morning portrait session down by the Guadalupe River, and then continued on through the town, walking through the historic areas, and even stopping by the General Store for a mid session pick me up for the boys. I love the shot of them sharing their treats in the sneak peek down below. 
I'm so glad Rachael introduced me to this cool town, thank you guys again for a fabulous session.

Katy + Cristian - - Grapevine Engagement Portraits

I am so excited about this sneak peek! Katy and I planned for months as I arranged my trip to Dallas for their engagement portrait session, and honestly, we could not have picked a better weekend. I met up with this sweet sweet couple about an hour before sunset at Grapevine Botanical Gardens. This is seriously one of my favorite locations for portraits because it's beautiful year round. I really loved Katy and Cristian's outfit choices-- the bright colors really complimented each other, and went well with all of the spring-time blooms throughout the garden. Katy and Cristian are getting married at the Little Chapel in the Woods in Denton and I am so overjoyed for them. Thank you both for such a fun session, and best of luck in your wedding planning!

Client Spotlight -- Flanders Family Portraits

I am so excited to start off the new year with a portrait session for one of my all time favorite families. Dawn and I have been best friends since the 4th grade, and so I practically grew up with the Flanders Family. I was thrilled when Dawn suggested doing some family portraits over Christmas break-- her family is comprised of some of the funniest people I know, so I knew it would be a good time. We decided to meet at Frisco Central Park on Sunday Morning. On my way there, I received a text from Dawn saying "we look like a bunch of misfits!" Well, misfits or not, I think their family portraits turned out great! Check out some of my favorites below:
